When last checked at 2234 UTC today, the Minor Planet Center's NEO discovery Confirmation Page (NEOCP) had two updated listings. Of these, one was a "one nighter." So far The Tracking News has counted a total of ten objects listed on the NEOCP at some point today.

- K07V08L 2007 VL8 (H=21.2 ~195m) was discovered at 0822 UT on 5 Nov. by the CSS, which observed it at Nov. 5.35-45p8. The discovery was confirmed by Alter Satzberg Obs. (Nov. 5.99-01p3), Great Shefford Obs. (Nov. 6.14-15p4), and MLS (Nov. 6.39p4).
MPEC 2007-V47 - "13:08 UT" - 2007 VK8
- K07V08K 2007 VK8 (small asteroid, H=23.1 ~81m) was discovered at 0631 UT on 5 Nov. by the MLS, which observed it at Nov. 5.27-28p3, 5.36-37p6, and 6.41-42p7.
MPEC 2007-V46 - "13:05 UT" - 2007 VJ8
- K07V08J 2007 VJ8 (small asteroid, Q=5.368 AU, H=24.7 ~39m) was discovered at 0611 UT on 5 Nov. by the MLS, which observed it at Nov. 5.26p3 and 5.36-37p3. The discovery was confirmed by the Spacewatch 1.8m telescope (Nov. 6.37p2).

An impact solution, also known as a "virtual impactor" (VI), is not a prediction but rather a possibility derived from a variant orbit calculation that cannot be eliminated yet based on the existing data. Elimination can come quickly with just a little further observation or may take weeks or months, sometimes years. Once superceded or eliminated, a former impact solution has zero relevance to an object's risk. See Jon Giorgini's "Understanding Risk Pages" to learn more.
