This report was generated at 1940 UTC with six new discoveries. Besides the four listed in the traffic table here, there are two others that have already departed: 2017 FU90 (MPEC, DOU), which flew past at 7.38 LD on March 23rd, and 2017 FS90 (MPEC, DOU), which went by at 7.13 LD five days earlier. Today's DOU MPEC has follow-up for two objects in the traffic table, for departed risk-listed objects 2017 FD3 and radar/NHATS target 2016 TB57, and for four departed NHATS targets: 2017 FR63, 2017 FQ63, 2017 FR, and 2017 DX34. The DOU also has astrometry from last November for risk-listed objects: 2016 VH and 2016 TT92, and additionally from November for 2016 RF34 (adding 53.19 days to its 11.88-day observation arc) and 2013 UG1 (19.90 days added to 1.00-day recovery), and from January for 2009 BE58 (26.969 days added to 0.002-day recovery).



Notes: Ten times the distance to the Moon (ten LD) has no astronomical importance but is a useful boundary for reporting on transient natural objects that approach the actually significant gravitational sphere of influence (SOI), which has a radius of about 2.41 LD from Earth's center. This puts a focus on some of the most important and very best NEO observation work, representative of the much larger NEO discovery and tracking effort. When last checked at 2358 UTC today, the Minor Planet Center's Near Earth Object discovery Confirmation Page (NEOCP) had 81 objects listed. Of these, 55 were "one nighters." So far The Tracking News has counted a total of 115 listings on the NEOCP today.

An impact solution, also known as a "virtual impactor" (VI), is not a prediction but rather a possibility derived from a variant orbit calculation that cannot be eliminated yet based on the existing data. Elimination can come quickly with just a little further observation or may take weeks or months, sometimes years.
