This report was generated at 2210 UTC with five discoveries: approaching 2019 CY1 (MPEC), inbound 2019 CB2 (MPEC), and departed objects 2019 CA2 (MPEC), which may have passed us at 4.8 LD* on January 26th, 2019 CW1 (MPEC), which went by at about 2.4 LD* on the 30th, and 2019 CV1 (MPEC), passing at around 8.3 LD* on the 22nd, along with the recovery of distant 2015 PK9. Today's DOU MPEC has follow-up for five departed objects: 2019 BY4, 2019 BL4, 2019 AR2, 2013 VX4, and risk-listed intruder 2019 BZ3, plus pre-discovery observation from early last month of risk-listed 2019 BV2 (23.52 days added to 2.01-day observing arc).



Notes: Ten times the distance to the Moon (ten LD) has no astronomical importance but is a useful boundary for reporting about transient natural objects that approach our planet's gravitational sphere of influence (SOI), which has a radius of about 2.41 LD from Earth's center. This puts a focus on some of the most important and very best NEO observation work, representative of the much larger NEO discovery and tracking effort. "Distant" is used here to describe objects that have approached Earth within ten LD since A/CC began these traffic reports began twelve years ago but are not presently coming so close. Object temporal distances are derived by A/CC from JPL Horizons data. "LD*" indicates some uncertainty in object passage time and distance. The MPC's NEO Confirmation Page has 26 listings

When last checked at 2358 UTC today, the Minor Planet Center's Near Earth Object discovery Confirmation Page (NEOCP) had 26 objects listed. Of these, eight were "one nighters." The Tracking News counted a total of 107 listings on the NEOCP on this day.
