There was no traffic report today due to our inability to download all the necessary data, but it appears that there were twenty-two transient natural objects reported inside our ten-LD traffic reporting "bubble." Today's DOU MPEC had follow-up for approaching objects 2019 UE8, 2019 UH1, and risk-listed 2019 VK, inbound 2019 UM12, outbound risk-listed 2019 VC, and seven departed objects: 2019 UO13, 2019 UR12, 2019 UT7, 2019 UF5, 2019 UC5, 2019 UB4, and risk-listed 2019 VH.

Note: Ten times the distance to the Moon (ten LD) has no astronomical importance but is a useful boundary for reporting about transient natural objects that approach our planet's gravitational sphere of influence (SOI), which has a radius of about 2.41 LD from Earth's center.

NEOCP Activity  on 5 November '19

The MPC's NEO Confirmation Page has 136 listings

When last checked at 2251 UTC today, the Minor Planet Center's Near Earth Object discovery Confirmation Page (NEOCP) had 136 objects listed. Of these, 96 were "one nighters." The Tracking News counted a total of 166 listings on the NEOCP on this day.

An impact solution, also known as a "virtual impactor" (VI), is not a prediction but rather a possibility derived from a variant orbit calculation that cannot be eliminated yet based on the existing data. Elimination can come quickly with just a little further observation or may take weeks or months, sometimes years. Once superceded or eliminated, a former impact solution has zero relevance to an object's risk. See Jon Giorgini's "Understanding Risk Pages" to learn more.
