Ephemerides for Objects Currently Close or Approaching
Geocentric elements -- click [Horizons] to obtain local observing elements
Legend This ephemerides page is provided as a convenience to observers. All data comes from NASA/JPL SSD Horizons. Objects are shown in reverse designation order and are currently inside ten lunar distances (LD) of our planet or are known to be on approach for a close passage. The Delta field here, displaying distance between an object and Earth, is in lunar distances (LD) rather than the usual astronomical units (AU). Right Ascension (RA) and Declination (Dec) are in decimal degrees and are to the sky what longitude and latitude are to Earth's surface. Solar elongation (Elon) is an angular measurement in the sky of how far an object is from the Sun, where 180° maximum represents best viewing. And apparent magnitude (V) brightness increases with lower numbers (e.g., 18.0 is much brighter than 22.0).
